If you are looking for the right keyword research tool for your business, you might be wondering if it is worth it investing in KWFinder. With so many keyword research tools (both free and paid) out there, should you just stick to the free keyword tool or invest in a paid one such as KWFinder.
Well, I can totally understand how you feel because I was in the exact same situation as you not too long ago.
After trying out KWFinder and other KWFinder alternatives such as Ahref and Ubersuggest, I decided to purchase KWFinder’s annual plan.
So, why did I decide to go with KWFinder instead of its competitors such as Ahref and Ubersuggest?

So, who is KWFinder suitable for?
It is suitable for anyone who wants to rank on the first page of Google to get more free targeted organic search traffic for their business.
To be more specific, you could be in any of the following businesses:
- Running a blog (e.g. marketing blog, personal finance blog, food blog, travel blog, lifestyle blog, parenting blog, relationship blog, etc)
- Running a niche site (e.g. product review site, pet sites, and etc)
- E-commerce business
- Coaching business
- Selling courses online
- Providing services (e.g. legal service, real state, tax consulting, insurance, financial planning, content marketing, etc)
What You Can Use KWFinder For
KWFinder helps you get more free targeted organic search traffic and leads and rank high on Google by making it very easy for you to choose the BEST keywords to target.
If you don’t want to waste time creating content that will never get you any traffic from search engines, then you should be strategic about choosing your keywords and content marketing.
So, what do I mean by “strategic”?

There are a few key factors that Google uses to decide which website ranks higher than others:
- Domain Authority (e.g. Major news publication website and government websites have very high domain authority)
- No. of quality links linked to article (the more quality links linking to it, the higher your rank)
- Relevance and quality of the article ( the more relevant and better quality your article is, the higher your rank)
Generally, most of the search traffic for a particular keyword will go to the top ranking websites on the first page of Google.
Even if you manage to rank on page 2 or page 3 of Google, you will only see a trickle of search traffic if there is any at all.
Let’s say you are a personal finance blogger like me who wants to write articles about investing.
Here’s what you will see in KWFinder after you input the keyword “Investing”.
Basically, it will show you the following important things:
- Keyword difficulty (with 100 being the most difficult and 0 being the easiest)
- Search volume per month
- Search trend
- SERP (Search Engine Result Page)
From the screenshot above, you can see that the keyword difficulty is 85 and it advises you NOT to do it.
I will give you the same advice too.
Although this keyword is a good keyword( high search volume and trending keyword), it’s NOT a good keyword for you to target.
On the first page of Google, all the websites ranking for this keyword have very high domain authority (i.e. DA).
If you choose this keyword, you are essentially trying to compete with websites such as “Investopedia”, “Forbes” and “MarketWatch”.
They are the “black belts” in the investing space.
By using a keyword research tool like KWFinder, you can save yourself a lot of time by avoiding to write an article that is probably never going to bring you any traffic.
So, does that mean there are no other good keywords that are related to investing for you to target?
No.

So, how exactly do you use KWFinder to do that?
Inside KWFinder, there are three very useful tools called” Related Keywords”, ” Autocomplete” and ” Questions” that you can use to find strategic keywords to target.
On top of that, you can use the ” filter” function to set your requirements such as “search volume” and ” keyword difficulty level”.
For my keyword research, I generally set the search volume to be minimum 500 and keyword difficulty not more than 35.
With this filter, it will make it much easier for you to generate a list of low competition keywords with decent search volume.
So, let’s take a look at how you can find the best keywords using KWFinder.
“Related Keywords” feature:
“Related Keywords” gives you all the related keywords for the seed keyword you type in.
Seed keywords are primary keywords that are usually one or two words and are very broad.
In our example, the seed keyword is “investing”.
KWFinder is well known for generating tons of related keywords.
But, you don’t want to waste your time going through all the keywords one by one.
Instead, you should use the “filter” function to filter out all the keywords that have low competition (i.e. low difficulty level) and decent search volume.
So, by applying the “filter” you set earlier on, you will see a smaller list of related keywords that you can target and have a high chances of getting ranked on page 1 of Google.
By the way, the keyword difficulty is color coded to help you easily identify easy low competition keywords, with green color indicating low keyword difficulty.
“Autocomplete” feature:
“Autocomplete” gives you all the Google search queries that start with “investing”.
I love this tool because it gives me an idea of what my target audience is searching for on Google.
Again, you can apply a filter to get a list of keywords that are more likely to get you ranked on Google and bring you free search traffic.
Let’s say you are in the wedding niche either as a wedding planner or running an online store that sells wedding apparels and accessories.
You can input the root keyword “wedding” to give you a bunch of keyword ideas that have low competition but high search volume.
“Question” feature:
You can also use KWFinder to find out what questions your target audience are asking and looking for answers to.
With voice search gaining popularity, it’s a good idea to use this and create content specifically to help answer their questions.
For example, if you are selling skincare products or you are running a blog on skincare, you can input root keyword such as “eye cream” to generate a list of questions that your target customers are asking online.
Each of these questions can be turned into a Youtube video or a blog article to help you attract leads to your business.
More Tools To Get Keyword Ideas

Then, it will give you a list of keyword that your competitors are ranking for.
You will know which keywords they are ranking No.1 on Google and which keywords they are getting a lot of free organic traffic.
This information is very useful especially if your competitor has a lower domain authority than you and their content is not of very high quality.
Why?
Because you will have a good chance of taking some of their search traffic if you can write better content targeting the same keyword.
SERPWatcher
SERPWatcher is also one of the many things that I like KWFinder about.
So, what is SERPWatcher?
It allows you to track the ranking of all your keywords.
This is very important if you are serious about using SEO to get a huge amount of traffic from Google.
One of the first things that I do every morning is to log into my KWFinder account and check the ranking of all my keywords.
Any big movement in your keyword ranking will be reflected in your organic traffic.
So, this allows me to pinpoint exactly what is the cause of the increase or decrease in my traffic.
If one of my keywords is doing well, I will want to improve my content and make it harder for my competitors to outrank me.
If there is a big drop in ranking for some keywords, I will know immediately and then I can work out a plan to improve my ranking.
KWFinder VS Ahref VS Ubersuggest
Before using KWFinder, I bought the $7 Ahref trial to see if it is worth is to invest in Ahref.
Ahref is a very comprehensive SEO research tool that gives you everything from link building, keyword ideas, competitor research to rank tracking.
It’s a very sophiscated tool that I find a bit overwhelming sometimes.
If you are a SEO agency or a SEO professional that has a big budget, then Ahref will be a perfect choice.
But, if you are a beginner with limited budget, then KWFinder is good enough in the sense that it gives you everything you will need to find the best keywords and rank high on Google.
It’s very easy to use.
It offers all the same essential features as Ahref (starts with $99/month) for a much cheaper price of $29.90/month.
So, pricing is one of the main reasons that I sign up with KWFinder instead of Ahref.
What about other KWFinder alternatives such as Ubersuggest and Long tail Pro?
I had been using Ubersuggest for a while until it went from a free tool to a paid SEO research tool.
And I only used it for competitor research because it gives you the top pages of your competitors which KWFinder doesn’t have.
But, I don’t recommend Ubersuggest for keyword research because it simply does not match up to both Ahref and KWFinder.
Now, Ubersuggest offers annual plan of $290 which is about $24.90/ month.
Price-wise, you would get so much more value from KWFinder by paying a bit more every month.
So, what about Long Tail Pro?
It’s quite similar to KWFinder but not as user-friendly as KWFinder.
For keywords research, it doesn’t provide search volume trend like KWFinder and Ahref do.
Is KWFinder Right For You?
When I was deciding which keyword research tool to purchase, there were two important factors I consider:
- Features (it must be able to help me find the best keyword ideas with low competition and medium to high search volume and allows me to track my Google ranking for all the keywords)
- Ease of use
- Price (I have a tight budget)
Below is KWFinder’s pricing and plan.
As you can see, KWFinderputs a limit on the number of searches you can perform. (All the other keyword research tool does the same thing with the highest-priced plan giving you the maximum limit allowed)
The reason why KWFinder uses this to cap the number of data requests you can make is that requesting data puts a strain on its resources, which increases costs.
This is understandable from its point of view, but will this be a problem for you?
If you are an SEO agency, there are better (and more expensive) alternatives such as Ahref.
But if you are a blogger, niche site creator, or entrepreneur who wants to use keyword research to rank higher on Google and get more targeted traffic to your website, then KWFinder should be good enough to help you achieve your goal.
And I recommend its premium plan because it gives you unlimited competitor keyword searches, 500 keyword lookups per day, and the maximum number of keyword suggestions to make full use of KWFinder. ( I also bought the premium plan)
Will the daily limit of 500 keyword lookups be an issue?
I use it almost every day to do my keyword research and have never had a problem with this.
Unless you are an extremely heavy user, I think it should be fine.
But, if you are just starting out and have a small budget, you can go with the basic plan first because you can always upgrade to the premium plan.
Conclusion
KWFinder is one of the best keyword research tools out there. If you don’t want to spend hours producing content that will just get buried in the sea of Google search results and doesn’t bring you any traffic and leads for my business, then you should sign up for a FREE trial with KWFinder.
