Are you looking for legitimate online job opportunities that allow you to work from home without investment?
I have put together a complete list of tried and tested online jobs that don’t require any money to start.
On this list, you will also find legitimate online jobs you can do from home even if you don’t have a college degree or you are retired.
And, all the online jobs here are thoroughly researched and tried and tested by either myself or people that I know.
1. Niche Site Creator
When you build a niche website, you are basically creating a website in a specific niche targeting a group of specific keywords.
Here are some niche sites that people have built and have been making at least a couple of thousand dollars online every month:
- Dog training website
- Gardening website
- Boat buying website
- RV buying website
- Pottery website
- Mountain climbing website
You just need to set up the website and then start writing useful and helpful content to help people solve their problems in the niche you are targeting.
If you do it right, your website will start to get free organic traffic from Google over time.
When it comes to making money with niche website, traffic is money.
As you get more and more website visitors, you can start to monetize your website through advertising, affiliate marketing and maybe your own products.
Now, let’s look at one niche website example – OutdoorGearLab.com.
This is a niche website that is specifically focused on outdoor gear such as hiking boots.
Every month, it gets over half a million free organic traffic every single month from Google.
And it makes a lot of money from promoting Amazon outdoor gear products and also selling advertising spaces on its website.
Here are some advantages of creating niche sites:
- No need to handle customers
- It’s passive income
- You can get started with very little startup capital
How much can you make as a niche site creator?
Some niche sites such as Outdoorgearlab.com could earn up to 5 figures (or even 6 figures) per month.
2. Blogger

It’s extremely flexible.
If you have other commitments, you just need to fit your blogging schedule around them.

3. Service Re-Seller
A few years ago, I started my own service business offering graphic design services to businesses.
The interesting part is that I didn’t have any graphic design skills.
What I did was that I found a group of talented freelancers online from platforms such as Fiverr and Upwork and asked them to work with me because I always have projects that I want to outsource.
Freelancers need work.
And I need talented people to deliver the work for my clients.
It is a win-win situation.
So, if you don’t want to sell your own skills or don’t have the time to deliver the services yourself, you can consider Service Arbitrage.
Basically, you are reselling other talented people’s skills and services.
How you make money is that you will charge your clients at a higher rate than what you are paying your freelancers.

4. Virtual Coach
Here is a fast way to monetize your expertise and knowledge – online coaching.
For example, if you are good at giving career advice, you can offer career coaching to people who are looking for a different career path.
So, what is good about this business model?
First, you can get started very quickly, even without a website. There are platforms where you can register as a coach and start taking paying clients.
Second, you can charge premium prices for online coaching because you are offering your personal help.
Lastly, there is no need to meet your client in person. You can simply conduct coaching via email or Skype calls.
That means you can work anywhere just from your laptop.
How much can you make as a virtual coach?
You can expect to make up to 5 figures (or even 6 figures) per month if you know how to put together a good offer, get qualified leads, and position yourself as the go-to coach to help them get the results they want.
5. Amazon FBA Seller
Amazon FBA literally means Amazon Fulfilled-by-Amazon.
In the Amazon FBA program, Amazon does ALL the hard work for you.
That means Amazon will store your inventory, ship your products to your customers and handle all the customer-related questions for you.
All you need to do is to pick your products, stock up inventory and promote and advertise your products.
How much can you make as an Amazon FBA Seller?
Some big Amazon FBA sellers can make 6 figures or even 7 figures every year.
But that is NOT the norm.
It’s estimated that, on average, a good private label product opportunity should sell between 250-300 units per month (or about 3 units per day).
With each unit sold, after subtracting all the cost and fees, you could make a profit of about $8-$15 per sold item. That translates to about $2,000 – $4500 every month.
Here’s a FREE Amazon sales estimator that you can use to see whether or not it’s a good product to sell on Amazon and also how much you can potentially make.
Just bear in mind that the competition is very high. Also, advertising cost to get customers is going up constantly.
6. Youtuber
This is one of the best online jobs that EVERYONE can do with no investment.
Whether you are a student, a working professional, a stay-at-home mom, a retiree or a person without a college degree, you can do this.
Also, it’s extremely flexible.
You can set your own hours and do it part-time after you finish school or work.
Below is an example of how even kids can make a lot of money with YouTube by simply sharing his opinions about toys on YouTube.
So, do you have something you want to share with the world?
YouTube is a good platform for you to host and share all your video content and grow a loyal following at the same time.
For example, if you are passionate about cooking, you can create cooking videos to share your recipes.
Personally, I follow quite a few food Youtube channels to learn how to cook good food at home.
Below is one of the most popular cooking YouTube channels created by an American housewife.
All she does is to share her videos on how she cooks different types of Korean food.
So, how do you make money online with YouTube on the side?
Generally, Youtubers make money with advertising ((yes, it’s those irritating ads at the start of every YouTube video you want to watch!) as well as sponsorship deals.
It’s estimated that you can expect to make $3 – $5 per 1000 video views.
The key to making decent money from YouTube is to create viral videos that get clicked, watched, and shared.
The more views you get, the more money you can make as a YouTuber.

Before I started my blog, I, too, was searching for different ways people can make real money online part-time.
I found that a lot of website owners are offering part-time online writer jobs.
Yes, you get paid to write website content for them.
In fact, I was once offered a part-time writing job, but I didn’t take it.
Below is the email I got regarding the pay of this online job.
They pay $25 for a 1000 word online article!
I didn’t want to do it because the pay is too low and doesn’t justify the amount of time and work I am going to put in.
If I put the same amount of time and write for my own website, I would make much more money.
Why?
Because all the articles I write will stay on my own website and will continue to bring me free organic traffic from Google for years to come.
With traffic, I can get paid by advertising or selling my own products or even other people’s products.
So, I am investing my time to create an “online asset” for myself.
But, I am not saying that you should never take a part-time online writing job.
If you are good at writing and can get a fair rate for your work, why not?
